What Is a PE One-Way Degassing Valve?
March 3, 2025

The PE One-Way Degassing Valve is a plastic valve specifically designed to control one-way gas release while preventing external air from entering the packaging. It is commonly used in the packaging of coffee beans, powdered foods, fermented products, and more.
“PE” refers to the **Polyethylene** material used to make the valve body, which offers the following properties:
- One-way degassing function
Allows gases generated inside the package (e.g., from coffee bean degassing) to be released, preventing the package from swelling or bursting.
- Blocks external air
Prevents oxygen, moisture, and odors from entering, extending product freshness.
- Made of Polyethylene (PE)
- High chemical stability, suitable for food packaging
- Recyclable and relatively eco-friendly
- Moderate melting point, easy to seal with plastic bags
Structure and Function of a PE One-Way Degassing Valve
- Coffee bean packaging
- Grains and animal feed
- Fermented products (e.g., kimchi, miso)
- Industrial powder packaging (to prevent swelling from internal pressure)
Common Applications
- Relatively low cost
- Cost-effective for mass production
- Compatible with various plastic film laminates
- Meets food-contact safety standards
